Congratulations are in order! The Women’s Diagnostic Center at St. Mark’s Hospital has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR)! We always knew they were excellent, but we like making it official.
The Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designation is awarded to breast imaging centers that achieve excellence by seeking and earning accreditation in all of the ACR’s voluntary breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program. This means that our Women’s Diagnostic Center is accredited by the ACR in Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, and Breast Ultrasound.
Peer-review evaluations were completed in each of these modalities, conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, to determine that our facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs. Way to go, team!
